The building:

In the past two years, we were very busy in Nepal to build the school and childrenhome. The pictures in the left line shows you the developments. Now a very exciting time have started: how to fulfil our job to give good education and provide a good home for those who haven’t?

We will give you a description of who the building looks like and what is done to build the building who it is now. The first stage of the building was preparing the land. Because the land is in a hill, the workers made it flat and they made a way to the main road so that all materials could easily go to the piece of land. When this was ready the construction starts and the walls raise rapidly.

In december 2005 the roof was almost ready. Thereafter the toilet building starts, the electricity was made, the beds were ordered and the rooms painted. Also the piece of land got a face lift, with many nice and colourful flowers. The building consists of three floors. The second floor is one big room with a kitchen, oven and washing place. This room is planned to be the children home. The children will sleep in one room in the first floor. One room is reserved for the ‘father’ and ‘mother’ of the children. The other six rooms are for the school, although we have planned to start in april 2007 with three classes. This gives space to grow.

The quality of education is in our point of view the most important thing in education. The many government schools in Nepal provides education, but is a pity to see the level the children stick. We think this is because of the rooms where children get taught, but also because of the very low educated teachers. We want to do this different. We want to put energy in the circumstances the children get taught and we want to provide the children education by not only thinking, but also by doing. In our curriculum the children get besides of math, English, nepali and economy also art subjects as drawing, painting and so on. It isn't neccesary to learn all the time in the classical way, but make now and then also something with your hands. Especially in the lower classes is playing, singing and drawing a major thing in our curriculum.
