Lieven and Jim: the first volunteers

Next to Lieven and Jim, more volunteers visited Nepal. In March Uffe and Michal from Denmark (photo) visited to take care of the fence surrounding the grounds. In May, Marije painted the swing, homes and sand box and in June, Petra visited the building!

Also in June, Scarlett and Maarten visited the school and the children’s home for a couple of weeks. They were actively involved in making wooden play blocks and a cart. It is great to see how much is actually played with the cart! On the pictures below, Scarlett is baking pancakes for the entire school. It was a pleasant and successful delicacy!

What can you do?

• Contributing financially to a concrete goal. Please read our wish list below.
• Sponsoring a child at school for 8 euros per month
• Sponsoring a child in the children’s home for 50 euro per month
• Working at the school or the children’s home as a volunteer
• From time to time, material is required, such as toys for the school and the children’s home. Perhaps if this is something you are able to help us with, please get in touch with us to review the possibilities.

How can you do this?

In addition, we have a number of things we would like to purchase but for which we are currently lacking the financial means. Below an overview, so you are able to engage in sponsoring one of our concrete goals.


• Swing NRS 7000 = € 80,- --> realised
• Sandbox NRS 10000 = € 120,- --> realised
• Carpets* per m2 NRS 2000 = € 23,50
• Play hut (2x) NRS 7000 = € 82,50 each --> realised
• Currently, we are making an inventory of the roof coverings. We would like to cover the inside of the roof with reed, but more coming soon on this topic.
• Reinforcement of the track leading to the main road with respect to the rain season: NRS 75.000 = € 890,-

* We would like to make a couple: four for the classrooms (about 6,5 m2 each); one for the top floor (about 10m2 and a smaller one for the hallway (about 7m2).
